Hal is a family man who has spent 35 years building high performance, passionate teams related to business and community issues. Hal is married to Baadrea (28 years),has three sons, ages 38, 33, and 27, and 9 grandchildren. Hal’s favorite hobbies include family camping, fly fishing and scuba diving.
Hal focuses on Pearl, which he co-founded with Scott Owen, and his executive coaching business, Elevate2Lead that he partners with Baadrea. Previously, Hal was a senior executive in a fortune 100 company and a member of the executive team at a small high-tech company, Coherent Technologies, Inc. As with others, single moms have been prevalent in his life and Hal has committed his leadership skills to making a difference. It is a ministry through which God shapes all involved, including the Board Chair!
Angie Sanders joined the Pearl Board of Directors as the Treasurer in December of 2020 and feels blessed to have the opportunity to serve. Angie has been a self-employed CPA since 2003 and licensed in the state of Colorado since 1997. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Accounting. Although her Texas roots will always remain, Angie and family have lived in beautiful Colorado since 1994. She resides in the Longmont area with her husband of over 30 years and has 2 amazing children and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Melissa joined the Pearl team in May of 2019 as the Executive Director. In June of 2021 she transitioned to the Board of Directors in order to spend more time on her private counseling business. She has a BS in Psychology from CSU and a MA in Counseling from CCU. She is a wife and a mother of two. When she is not working or caring for her family she enjoys running, biking, camping and boating! She was born in Nebraska but has always considered Colorado home.
Scott Owen is a lifelong resident of Longmont and the surrounding community. Married to Terri, for over 37 years they have two adult children, two grandchildren and resides near Berthoud. A 40 year career veteran of the media industry, Scott is recently retired, however continues to serve on various community and professional boards/committees.
As a founding partner of Pearl Promise, Scott shares a passion to serve God by displaying His love and desire to serve others. Scott has a dedicated focus to the mission, Board of Directors and Transportation Team of Pearl. Very important to Scott, is time spent with family, friends, church and his passion for water skiing, blues music, and encouraging others.
Jessica Burgard joined the Pearl Board of Directors in 2019 and is so grateful to be part of such an amazing program. Jessica is currently working as a Forensic Nurse for Centura Health. She has her BSN through UNC and has been working as a nurse for over 12 years. Jessica is a native to Colorado and loves all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. She lives in Erie with her husband of 12 years. She has 3 daughters ages 24, 11, and 7.
Kelli believes that God has a plan for everyone, but that He gave us other people to help with our journey. She is married to her soulmate, Brent, and is a mother to two college students, a boy and a girl. She is also very blessed to be a stepmom to three grown kids and three grandkids.
Kelli has lived most of her life in Colorado and received her master’s degree in business and management at CSU. She spent 30 years leading businesses and building strong, high-performance teams, mostly in the healthcare industry. Kelli recently retired from UC Health where she built and led the Urgent Care team across northern Colorado. “The greatest joy of my career has been helping people grow their careers and personal lives as well as building solid long-term relationships.”
Kelli is passionate about giving back to the community, especially when it comes to single moms and their kids. Once a single mom herself, Kelli understands just how difficult it can be to balance the day-to-day stress and successfully manage a career. She feels that the support of amazing friends and family lifted her up and allowed her to raise incredible children. That is why her lifelong goal is to give back now that she has the ability.
Pearl gives Kelli the opportunity to follow her passion and make a difference in others’ lives. She lives that out by mentoring single moms as part of LBCC’s Single Mom’s support group, which encourages women to find the path that God has planned for them. “It is amazing how much difference you can make in someone’s life by just listening and being supportive.”

Donna joined PEARL in June of 2021 as the Executive Director. With a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, her non-profit career began at the Boys and Girls Club of Pekin as a volunteer basketball coach. She enjoys spending time with friends, reading, kayaking, hiking, and attending concerts during her free time.
Eli Frick is a resident of northern Colorado by way of Detroit Michigan. He studied business law at Metropolitan State University of Denver and proceeded to work in the automotive industry. Passionate about outdoors and adventure Longmont Colorado is a perfect place to call home. Eli married his best friend Melissa in June of 2004 and are blessed with a son and daughter. In Eli’s spare time he enjoys boating and camping with family.
